Spoon Wood, Peebles
Tucked away up the narrow Manor Sware road, this small car park offers fabulous views over the River Tweed and the Manor Valley. Lovely walks available in all directions. Note: this is the second car park, located on the left-hand side of the road, opposite an entrance to South Park Wood.

Rosetta Holiday Park, Peebles
Ideally positioned on the outskirts of Peebles, only a 10-minute walk to its many shops, eateries and attractions, Rosetta Holiday Park offers 40 grass pitches for motorhomes and campervans. Rest up, freshen up and head out to explore picturesque Peebles and the surrounding towns and villages.

Kerfield Camping, Peebles
Perfectly located within walking/cycling distance of Peebles and Glentress Forest, Kerfield Farm offers hardstanding parking with glorious views south over the River Tweed to the hills beyond. The site is pet friendly – and you might even learn more about the owner’s champion sheepdogs while here!

Glentress Forest Lodges, nr Peebles
Sitting at the base of the mountain biking and walking trails at Glentress Forest – and with the brilliant Go Ape just a short walk away – this is a great stop-off for adventure-seekers. The site offers a number of hardstanding pitches, some equipped with water and electric. Also available are 22 timber frame pods, plus an expanded tent camping area for the 2024 season.

Forestry & Land Scotland, Innerleithen,
One of Forestry & Land Scotland’s (FLS) dedicated Stay the Night locations, this site at the 7stanes mountain biking trailhead just outside Innerleithen is ideal for those looking to stay close to the action. With the main car park busy with day visitors and the mountain bike uplift service, those staying overnight are asked to use an area just beyond the main car park. If travelling elsewhere in the Scottish Borders, FLS also operates Stay the Night locations at the Cheviots and Wauchope.
Traquair House, nr Innerleithen
It’s hard to imagine a more historic stopover than the grounds of Traquair House – the oldest continuously inhabited house in Scotland. With the main house, gorgeous grounds, a giant maze, craft workshops, a walled garden (spot the peacocks!), café and even a celebrated brewery, it’s a place to spend the whole day rather than just a night!

Tweedside Caravan Park, Innerleithen
A beautifully located site on the route of the new Tweed Valley Canoe Trail, Tweedside Caravan Park is the perfect place to enjoy the many outdoor activities on the doorstep – and not just paddling. There is direct access to the Tweed Valley Railway Path, which connects Innerleithen with Walkerburn and Peebles, plus fabulous walks, cycle rides, fishing and golf in every direction.

Old Ettrick School, Ettrick
This characterful site offers spacious, hardstanding pitches set within a large garden on the outskirts of Ettrick. An idyllic spot to explore the beloved landscape of Scottish writer and poet, James Hogg – and enjoy the water sports on offer at nearby Loch of the Lowes and St Mary’s Loch.

Tima Water, Ettrick
A peaceful, riverside car park next to the Tima Water between Ettrick and Eskdalemuir. Look out for it on the B709, just along the road from the Angecroft Caravan Park and less than a mile from the junction with the Ettrick Road.

As well as these overnight locations, there are a variety of places to park up for the day and explore, including Kingsmeadows car park in Peebles, Cademuir Forest just outside Peebles, Toll Wood near Innerleithen and Loch of the Lowes, Yarrow Valley.
