From campsites to spa hotels, characterful cottages to family-sized bunkhouses – we have your Tour de France accommodation needs covered

The Tweed Valley is geared up for cyclists (and their bikes) all-year round. We have a wealth of wonderful accommodation providers to suit all budgets, with these top suggestions for a good night’s sleep on and around the Tour de France route.

Innerleithen

In the heart of Innerleithen, the Traquair Arms Hotel is in easy reach of the area’s major walking and biking trails. Featuring 15 guest rooms in the main building, plus self-catering cottages and secure bike storage, it’s also home to a lively restaurant and two well-stocked bars. There is more self-catering accommodation over the road at both Cleikum Mill Lodge, Tweedside (Stay Scotland) and Room @1 Chapel Street (pictured above). Each boasts excellent facilities including drying rooms and bike storage – plus easy access to the town’s vibrant cafes and restaurants, pubs, local supermarket and all-important bike shops.

On the outskirts of town, Tweedside Caravan Park offers a mix of static caravans, almost 30 pitches for motorhomes, campervans and caravans, plus a separate area for tents and six wooden pods. And Tweed Valley Pods offers something a little different with four luxury glamping pods nestled into the hillside just one mile west of the town. Their peaceful location is perfect for guests looking to embrace the natural beauty of the area – with bike wash and laundry facilities also available on site.

Walkerburn

In an elevated position on the edge of the village, Windlestraw Guesthouse is a charming, 120-year-old lodge set in 10 acres of peaceful grounds. With three boutique guest rooms (plus more to come in 2026) it’s the ideal stopover for spectators looking for a rural retreat just a stone’s throw from the Grand Depart route.

Peebles

Coming as a large group – or bringing your bikes? Kailzie Big Lodge just three miles from Peebles can sleep up to 27 people across five bedrooms (including an accessible room) and features a spectacular shared kitchen, high speed broadband and many more mod cons. In the town itself, Peebles Hydro Hotel has enviable leisure facilities and on-site activities for all ages and stages (including an impressive gin school and distillery) and the characterful Tontine Hotel – dating back to 1808 – always has a warm welcome and hearty meal ready for guests at its central, High Street location. For something more home-from-home, Priorsford Cottage, Dalgety and Dilkusha are all perfectly located for access to the town’s many shops, eateries and attractions – plus bus connections to towns along the route of the Tour.

This is just a snapshot of the hotels and inns, guesthouses, B&Bs and lodges available in the Tweed Valley. For much more, please have a scroll through our Stay pages. Keep an eye out too for pop-up campsites and more in the area over the coming months.
